Are You Someone Who Encourages Others?

The heartfelt counsel of a friendÖ is as sweet as perfume and incense. (Proverbs 27:9 ) NLT

Jesus replied: "`Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' (Matthew 22:37-39)

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: (Philippians 2:1-5)

Donít just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When Godís people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Donít curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Donít be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And donít think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. (Romans 12:9-17 ) NLT

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:13)

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. ( I John 4:7-10 )

Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. (I John 4:17)
